Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Project 1384
A network of pastors needs funds to operate a program for up to 1,100 Haitian children - most are
restaveks.
"Restavek" is the Creole term for a child servant. More than 300,000 restavek children live far from their homes
with host families who often subject them to negligence and abuse. Because they are kept out of school to do
chores, most also remain illiterate.
That’s why Cross International supports the Children’s Club of Solino, a Christian organization
that provides a lasting hope to some of Port-au-Prince’s most desperate children. Operated by a Christian
network of pastors, this Sunday afternoon and summer program improves the lives of Haitian children – most
of whom are living as restaveks and are sadly lacking in educational and social opportunities. Your gift through
Cross International will give these young people a bright and hopeful future.
We meticulously honor the intent of our donors. 100% of all proceeds are restricted for the specific project for which
they are raised. In the rare event that more funds are received than are required for a specific project, the additional
funds will be used to meet the most urgent needs of the poor.
All donations made to Cross International are tax deductible and receipts will be provided. If you choose to contribute
without seeking additional information, please remember to include the project name and number with your gift. Thank
you and may God bless you!
